These settings are automatically propagated to Domain Time II Servers acting in the Slave role (see the Server tab page for more info on server roles), and the slaves will begin using these settings as soon as they sync with the master.

After slave synchronizes with the master, it should check again...

As often as needed to maintain milliseconds sync with server
Choose this option when you want slaves to automatically try to maintain synchronization with the master within the range of milliseconds you specify. Slaves will synchronize often enough to maintain this level of accuracy. Over time, Domain Time trains the system clock to be more accurate, so the number of times the slave will need to sync to stay within the target range should decrease. See Clock Training for more info.

The default for this option is 100 milliseconds. Note that this is a tighter range than used on the server or client settings. It is important that slaves maintain a close synchronization with the master so that there are no additional inaccuracies introduced in the time by having an additional layer of servers between the client and the time source.

If you choose to use automatic accuracy targeting, be sure to select a realistic value. Choosing to have the slaves try to maintain too small a variance will cause generate extra network traffic without necessarily improving the accuracy. In particular, be sure to pick a value that is not smaller than the best resolution of the time protocol you're using.
