 Overview\Domain Time Around the World

Our customers use Domain Time II to solve unique timing problems in applications literally around the globe. Here are some of the fascinating ways people are using Domain Time II:

Antarctica 3 .  Monitoring Volcanos in Antarctica.

The Institut für Geophysik of the Universität Hamburg recently used Domain Time II on an expedition to observe the Mt. Erebus Volcano in Antarctica.

On the expedition we successfully installed a wireless LAN network on Mt. Erebus volcano in Antarctica at an altitude of around 4000 metres. We used your software to do the timing of some of our data loggers on the crater rim. They were logging into a GPS NTP server that we set up, also on the crater rim. As far as I can say now, everything worked perfectly with your software!

The measurements of the volcanic data were very interesting, and a lot of new information about the eruption mechanism of volcanoes were gained.

I would like to say thanks again at this stage, since the use of your software certainly helped to successfully finish the expedition.

Rescue 21 .  Helping the United States Coast Guard with Search & Rescue and Homeland Security.

The Coast Guard is now implementing Rescue 21 an ambitious program to upgrade and modernize its communications capabilities. Domain Time is being used as part of this project to synchronize time in this new, advanced command, control, and communications (C3) system.

Rescue 21 will allow Coast Guard personnel to respond faster to maritime emergencies since this modern communications system includes direction-finding equipment. This equipment will aid in locating mariners in distress within 20 miles from our shores. The system will also allow digital selective calling transmissions that instantly transmit a vessel's identity, exact location, and other vital information when properly registered and used in conjunction with an integrated Global Positioning System receiver.

Rescue 21 has come at the right time. It will have a positive impact on all our coastal mission areas resulting in improved performance and a safer, more secure nation.
